Biography of Director

Pouya Aminpouri, DOB: Urmia 1990
Pouya is an Iranian filmmaker, best known for his mystery thriller short film “The Wheel”, which earned him four awards in Nahal student short film festival including Best film award in 2016. He received his B.S in civil engineering from Iran’s university of science and technology but following his passion in cinema he changed his major and received his M.A in cinema from Sooreh university of art. He also has been the producer and director of photography of short films such as “The Ashes” directed by “Aryan Golsoorat” which was well received at Fribourg International Film Festival in 2019. He currently is working on a feature film script.

Director Statement

“The Third Person” is a mystery-thriller short film and different in tone and genre from normal Iranian films, which are mostly dramas based on social problems. In this project, Following my previous two short films, I pursued my passion for cinematic linguistics of storytelling, using them to create suspense and express basic human emotions such as fear.
